Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce Mission Statement:
The Mission of the Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce is to advance the civic, commercial, industrial and general interests of the county and its residents therein. Enhancement of the business interests and the quality of life for citizens shall be the primary mission of the Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce.
Formed in 1926, The Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce is an active organization made up of business owners, professionals, community leaders, officials and individual members. The Chamber is the voice for business in the county and its mission is to enhance the success of business, tourism, civil interests and to promote the quality of life for all citizens.
The chamber of commerce is a voluntary business membership organization. Members choose to invest their time and money where it makes a real difference in their own business community. Chamber membership is open to anyone interested in helping to develop the community. Membership supports a stronger local economy, more business, and more jobs. The work of the Chamber is financed by the investments of its members. Membership investment levels are designed to permit even the smallest businesses to become chamber members.
The Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce is guided by a board of directors comprised of eleven elected directors. Dan W. Huggins, Executive Director and Judy Scott, Executive Assistant, the Chamber’s executive staff, are dedicated to implementing the plans put together by the board.
The Chamber assists members through education, promotion and information important to their success. Activities and divisions are structured to respond to member needs. The Chamber continues to promote public recognition of its members and their contributions to the success of the community.
Houston County offers special events and activities at numerous locations within the area such as local entertainment, festivals, camping, hiking, fishing, golfing, concerts and plays, resale and antique shopping, specialty shops and dining, Houston County Lake, Davy Crockett National Forest, Mission Tejas State Park, historical homes, historical markers and much more. Chamber members and the community can participate in a variety of activities throughout the year.
The chamber serves as the “front door” to the business community and is often the first stop for businesses and families wishing to relocate to or visit the community.
